A Saturday Evening in Italy at Kuccini

Kuccini restaurant paris article mode paper

On Saturday evening, I had the opportunity to try a new Italian restaurant in the heart of Paris: Kuccini. Yes, it's truly Italian!

Where is it located?

Kuccini is located at 165 rue Saint Denis in the 2nd arrondissement of Paris, known as the city's most 'open' street. Amidst popular bars and traditional sex shops, trendy establishments like Kuccini, which opened just two months ago, now coexist.

What is the atmosphere like?

One might imagine being in a loft! While the tables are somewhat close together (the restaurant occupies a small area), the atmosphere is very pleasant. Regarding the decor, wood elements are harmoniously combined with black concrete beams, creating a highly successful design. The dining area is bright, opening onto the exterior through a large glass roof. The kitchen is also open, allowing guests to observe the chef preparing his finest 100% Italian dishes. It is worth noting that this particularly stylish decor was designed by the architects of Maison Plisson.

What is on the menu?

Let us proceed step by step. For starters, I discovered cicchetti (Italian-style tapas) designed for sharing. I sampled Crescentines, which are small, puff-pastry-like fritters to be dipped in a flavorful gorgonzola sauce. I also recommend the Burrata, drizzled with olive oil, offering an authentic taste of Italy.
For the main course, I experienced a blueberry risotto for the first time! It was an absolute delight. When the plate arrived with its purple hue, I admit I was somewhat skeptical… However, with the first bite, it proved to be exquisite. This is a chef's specialty that Flavien, the proprietor, sourced directly from Milan. It is safe to say that at Kuccini, Italian cuisine is taken very seriously.
For dessert, I opted for a classic choice, as the tiramisu was particularly appealing. I can confirm it is excellent, being both light and creamy. It is easily enjoyed even after a substantial meal.

Would one return?

Yes, as the menu offers considerable variety, and I would certainly like to try the truffle ravioli.

As someone fortunate enough to visit Rome frequently, I can confidently say I am familiar with Italian cuisine. Therefore, discovering an authentic Italian restaurant in Paris is truly gratifying.

At Kuccini, the owner, the chef, and even the waitress are all Italian!

A noteworthy and distinctive feature is that most dishes are available in small or large portions. This provides an excellent opportunity to sample a variety of items and share them with friends.
Furthermore, for groups, a large high table is prominently situated at the back of the dining area, surrounded by an attractive display of wine bottles (Italian, naturally…).
Guests can also enjoy the terrace for an aperitivo, featuring an exclusively Italian wine list or a traditional Spritz.

In any case, the establishment appears to be very popular, as the servers were constantly busy.

The bill, please!

Cicchetti range from €4.50 to €8.50, and main courses are priced between €15 and €21.50. A meal, including a drink, typically amounts to around thirty euros per person. We highly recommend the tiramisu, which is as light as its price: €5.50!
In summary, one can enjoy excellent food without excessive expense.

The complete menu is available for review on the website.
